I spent an entire weekend reading about Tadao Ando. I was fascinated with his work. I ended up in a worm hole of pictures and articles. I became addicted to reading, watching videos and absorbing all things concrete architecture. This style of architecture came around in the 1950's and is called Brutalist architecture.....kind of an intense name. While some can see this style of living melancholic, I appreciated the beauty in the minimalist, yet bold design aesthetic.
Asian culture inspires us a lot at the Thirteen headquarters. Many of our pieces like the Koto Robe and the GOA Dress are direct influences from Japanese culture and street style.
